The City of Milwaukee will once again be recognizing 29 Days of Black History in 2024. This year’s theme is Celebrating Community, Social, and Civil Justice, and the festivities will include highlighting influential figures on the City of Milwaukee website and the City Channel; a Black History Month Program at City Hall on Feb. 27; as well as a Black History Month Power Hour Networking event. Casa Guadalupe is excited to celebrate our 12th annual Fiesta Latina fundraiser and Latin American Cultural Celebration with the community! This family friendly event will raise awareness for our nonprofit organization and will include Latin American food trucks, drinks, music, entertainment, dancing, kids’ games and activities, vendors, and more! All funds raised will benefit our literacy and education programs, college scholarship fund, and will support our mission to be the bridge of integration to Hispanics and the communities in which they live through education and community access.
VIA Community Development Corporation is excited to announce the 11th Annual Phobruary. February has become a month of celebration and appreciation for locally owned businesses. VIA invites the community to enjoy a signature Vietnamese dish, Pho.
What is pho? It’s a soup native to Vietnam, common in Laos and Thailand, which delivers a complex combination of flavors that dance on the tongue’s taste buds. It combines noodles with a choice of thinly-sliced beef, chicken, vegetables or shrimp, and also offers a multitude of garnishes and fresh herbs to tailor the soup to individual preferences. These typically include Thai Basil, sprouts, cilantro, limes, jalapeño, sauces, peppers, and other items. This delicious combination of flavors will satisfy your hunger by the time you get to the bottom of the bowl.
Phobruary has been a tradition that has taken place in Silver City for the past 10 years! This year for the 11th annual Phobruary, participants include three international restaurants: Vientiane Noodle Shop, Thai Bar-B-Que, and Bamboo Restaurant located in Silver City. These restaurants will be offering specials throughout the month of February.

Madison Carnaval 2024, featuring The Handphibians and Ótimo Brazilian Dance, is set to light up the Majestic Theatre for the 24th annual celebration!
This exhilarating live music event celebrates the rich tapestry of Brazilian culture in the heart of downtown Madison. The Handphibians, a renowned Brazilian percussion ensemble, will lead the charge with their dynamic rhythms, bringing the soul of Brazilian music to life. Accompanying them is Ótimo Brazilian Dance, known for their mesmerizing dance performances that embody the spirit of Rio Carnival. Madison Carnaval 2024 also features live performances by Canção bossa nova project, Forró Fo Sho, Grupo Balança, and Capoeira Brazilian martial arts.
