For our next Academia Bembé adult drum session, we will be welcoming back our guest artist-in-residence, Alberto “Beto” Torrens of San Juan, Puerto Rico!
Join us for a series of workshops on Afro-Puerto Rican musical traditions and drum rhythms with Beto Torrens beginning Monday, October 24th! This 7-week session of classes will run from October 24th-December 5th, 2022. Classes take place at Escuela Verde, 3628 W. Pierce St., Milwaukee.

Each year, we dedicate a non-juried group exhibition to showcase the artwork of our talented members. A wide range of media are presented salon-style throughout our gallery, creating an exuberant display of color, texture, form, and flow. The style of the artwork varies as much as the medium. For many, WPCA’s Annual Members Show has become a tradition and among their favorite to show work.

Meet our Selection Juror: CK Ledesma
Each year, a juror selects four outstanding artists from the Annual Members Show to exhibit individually in their own Featured Member Exhibition which will run for about 10 weeks: Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Click here for more about Featured Member Exhibition and previous artists and jurors.
Ck Ledesma is a transdisciplinary Afro-Taino artist from San Juan, Puerto Rico, living in the diaspora in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Besides art practices, they are passionate about serving their community while building authentic relationships and the liberation of all BIPOC people.
