11th Annual Emerald Gala

April 6, 2019 @ 5:00 pm 8:00 pm

The Sxsters of the Always Kapptivating chapter of Kappa Delta Chi cordially invite you to the 11th Annual Emerald Gala! Join us on our Founders Day as we celebrate community service, leadership, culture, and immigration through a FREE dinner and amazing performances. We will also be awarding our new individual scholarship to an undocumented college student from the Madison area.

The 11th Annual Emerald Gala will take place on Saturday, April 6th from 5pm-8pm in the Gordon Commons Overture Room. This year our theme is the Intersectionality in Immigration. We will be celebrating our immigrant roots and the strong immigrant community in Madison.

Key Note Speaker: Aissa Olivarez
Aissa Olivarez is a staff attorney at the Community Immigration Law Center (CILC), a non-profit resource center which helps low-income immigrants with legal services. When Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) terrorized the residents of Madsion and separated families in late 2018, Aissa played a critical role in assisting families that were affected. More recently, Aissa attended the State of the Union address with Representative Mark Pocan to advocate for the immigrant community.
