Cine Sin Fronteras MKE – Milwaukee Film Festival

October 18, 2019 @ 10:00 pm October 31, 2019 @ 11:00 pm

Cine Sin Fronteras aims to showcase the rich and vibrant Latinx diaspora around the world, including Latinx, Chicanx, Latin American, indigenous and Afro-Latinx communities. As such, films in this category transcend traditional boundaries and blur lines, embodying the spirit of the Latinx experience. They highlight and explore myriad facets of human identity and are not confined by genre, language, country of origin, race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexuality or ability.

Check out the exciting line-up for Cine Sin Fronteras at mkefilm.org/csf and buy your tickets for specific films.

Walker’s Point 5th Street Fest 2019

September 28, 2019 @ 12:00 pm 10:30 pm

Walker’s Point was one of the only Greater Downtown neighborhoods without a signature street festival. In 2017, the Walker’s Point Association, Town Bank & the community changed that with 5th Street Fest. It was a showcase of all the things that make this place so great: The people, culture, businesses, food, brewers, arts, makers, music & more. Serving as a fundraiser for the W.P.A. non-profit, it is an investment in this great neighborhood.

This festival is for any and all who appreciate cultural experiences, art, music, food, local products and more. It is for the residents of Walker’s Point to enjoy themselves and stand proud of what their home has to offer. It is for the businesses of Walker’s Point to continue to be put on the map for the amazing work they do. It is for the artists and musicians who deserve a stage to be seen and heard. It is for the makers to sell the crafts they put their hearts into. It is for families, it is for people of every age and every background. It is for the entire city of Milwaukee, to continue building upon its active cultural energy.

Frida Fest MKE

July 7, 2019 @ 11:00 am 4:00 pm

We will celebrate Frida Kahlo’s Birthday with a festival dedicated to her.

FRIDA FEST MILWAUKEE JULY 6th & 7th aims to promote Latino artists in South Eastern Wisconsin by highlighting the works and writings of the icon Firda Kahlo in a two day interactive cultural art festival.

Entrance to the festival is free. The whole family is welcome. The festival will feature local artisan vendors with unique Frida inspired works, mini petting zoo, face painting, painting classes and crafting opportunities, food vendors, live performances, and most importantly an interactive “Voces de Frida” “Voices of Frida” art installation by local artist and videographer Francheska Gomez.

The Farmhouse Paint & Sip believes in arts innate ability to encourage creativity, inspire community building, and foster an appreciation for culture. Furthermore, painting can provide much needed relaxation for anyone looking to escape the hectic schedules our lives are led by.
