Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES) Adult/Teacher Support Meeting

Students in Youth Empowered in the Struggle are organizing for better conditions in their schools, but they need the help of teachers and adults. Teachers have access to resources that can help students organize and find their voice. This meeting is for teachers and adults to learn more about how to help students organize campaigns in their schools.
Milwaukee Public Schools Students have been organizing for improved school lunch. MPS teachers who want to help will get an outline of how they can assist students at their school, plug into this campaign, start a chapter, and have regular meetings.
But this isn’t just for MPS teachers from Racine and local Colleges will also be joining us to talk about how to help students build a strong movement for social justice in their schools.
All attendees will get an outline on how to help students build a YES chapter. That means setting meetings, building membership, and teaching students the skills to stand up for themselves.
Students will be in attendance to connect with adults and share their perspectives.
