First Fridays Holiday Social & Cookie Contest

Preheat your ovens, the yummiest social of the year is back after a two year hiatus! Enjoy a night of good vibes, great music, and delicious treats at the 10th Annual First Fridays Holiday Social & Cookie Contest! The fun starts at 8PM with a beginner salsa lesson, followed by social dancing and cookie contest from 9PM until midnight. Admission is $15 and includes refreshments. (Cookie contest participants enjoy free admission!)
COOKIE CONTEST GUIDELINES
Anyone wanting to compete in the cookie contest should bring a minimum of 3 dozen home-baked cookies for each type of cookie they hope to enter (no more than 3 cookie types per contestant, please). “Cookie” is loosely defined as a small, usually flatish, sweet baked good; distinct from brownies and cakes. No-bake treats will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All cookies must be prepared “from scratch” to be considered. Cookies should be on the small side so more people can try them. (Tasters often don’t finish larger cookies.) Cookies wishing to compete must be checked in no later than 9:15PM; contest commences at 9:30PM and ends at 10:30PM. Winners are chosen by popular vote. Prizes include bakeware, gift certificates, bragging rights, and the eternal admiration of your friends!

Join Mezclando Milwaukee every “first Friday” of the month at the beautiful Delaware House studio for good vibes and great music in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. This event is “by dancers, for dancers” and includes a lesson, light refreshments, social dancing, and occasional performances. First Fridays are alcohol-free; youth under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Come see what makes this event a local mainstay since 2009! Cost is $15 (cash or credit).
